Sustainable packaging, a key target for RMDGroup

True to our slogan “We invent, we develop and we create“, RMDGRoup continues betting on R+D+I. Thanks to the iniciative co-financed by the Bask Govenment and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 (FEDER) , we have started a new ink development project led by our R+D Department.

The sustainability factor is key in the development of new products within the wine industry. And, in this sense, the packaging industry plays an essential role. Companies must look for sustainable solutions that respond to our customers´and final consumers’ concern for the environment.

In this regard, we offer our markets 100% plastic-free capsules focused on reciclability. Tin capsules – included in our Premium range- and e-cap represent a clear example of quality at the service of innovation.

Pure tin capsules, e-cap and water-based inks, examples of responsible packaging development and commitment to the environment made by RMDGroup.

We are aware as a group of our responsibility to contribute to a better world in order to invest in committed, ecological adn sustainable projects. Pioneers in the use of water-based inks on tin capsules and now applying this same technique to our e-cap and Inspiral screw caps, we continue to reduce our environmental impact.

RMDGroup committed to equal opportunities

Several initiatives took place within the Women's Week in RMDGroup worldwide.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Women’s Week, our Gender Equality Unit addressed  an iniciative to any employee of Ramondin who wanted to present a measure that favored gender equality in the workplace. After the deliberation, the proposal «50/50» was won, which aims to promote the number of women’s hirings in the production area, giving priority to female profiles, among different candidates with an appropriate CV that meet job performance standards. As a result of this resolution , a recruitment plan will be developed, detailing the practices to be carried out to promote gender parity within the company.

Also different initiatives were carried out in the different plants of the group. In this case, it was held by our colleagues from Ramondin USA, who celebrated a lunch together to commemorate The Women’s Day.

RMDGroup will continue promoting the defense and effective application of the principle of equality between women and men in the group. Working together we will succeed in pushing through equal opportunities and non-discrimination.

Commitment to prevention thanks to the Álava Firefighters

We took part of the risk analysis made by the Fire Department of Álava in Ramondin Laguardia.

In March and April, the Autonomous Fire Department of Álava completed a detailed inspection of the Ramondin plant in Laguardia in a proactive effort to prevent possible incidents.

During their visits, they emphasized risk analysis in the work environment, drawing up an operational sheet highlighting relevant points in the event of an emergency. This training will enable them to make more accurate and efficient decisions in the event of an incident at our production plant for capsules for wine, spirits, coiffes and muselets. All of these efforts will result in improved plant activity for firefighters and everyone at Ramondin, given that the level of safety has been increased, questions have been answered and work times have been reduced.

We are grateful to collaborate with this inciative and continue working with them in order to prevent and assure Ramondin’s employees safety.

New ERP , better customer service

A new symbol of change in RMDGroup, a new commitment to innovation and technology.

Ramondin began April with important changes in our management system, namely the change from ERP to the SAP digital platform . Implemented in Ramondin Laguardia, this new system will mean an internal revolution as well as affording important improvements for our clients and suppliers.

The manufacture, marketing and distribution of capsules and screw caps for wine and spirits, champagne hoods and muselets will take place through new channels, which will confer significant benefits:

OUR SERVICE WILL BE IMPROVED: We will have greater control and ease of access to all operation files, enabling us to locate orders, designs, shipments and incidents of any kind quickly and precisely.

SAFETY WILL BE PARAMOUNT: All data we possess regarding companies and our clients’ capsules will enjoy even greater protection.

SYSTEMS WILL BE COMPATIBLE: Many of our clients use this same or similar management systems, which will enable greater administrative compatibility.

THE GROUP WILL BE UNIFIED: Any documents made available to you from any of our six production centers will be unified and easy to access.

WE WILL BE READY FOR THE FUTURE: The new SAP will boost both Ramondin’s growth and yours.

Ramondin collaborates with Bodegas Familiares de Rioja

We accompanied them in the 22nd Edition of Wine Vintage Presentation for 2018

The presentation of the new vintage by Bodegas Familiares de Rioja was held in Riojaforum on March 11th. The 26 winery exhibitors were grouped by geographical areas (Oja-Tirón, Sonsierra, Najerilla, Sonsierra del Ebro, Iregua/Leza, Riberas del Ebro from Navarre and La Rioja and Laderas de Yerga) and we had the pleasure of enjoying an authentic journey through the land of a thousand wines.

In addition, the organization took this opportunity to pay tribute to the key role women have historically played and still represent in small family businesses: winegrowers, winemakers, enologists, managers, salespeople, managers, among others. Women who with their work and dedication are the basic pillar on which the family wineries of La Rioja rest.

The symbol of a change

We create RMDGroup, a new international project focused on creating value.

We must first go back to 2017 to understand the context of the revolution that we plunged into in late 2018. That first year, what was then called Grupo Ramondin acquired the Chilean screw-cap company, INESA. This made us the undisputed leaders on the Latin American market. In December of the same year, at Ramondin, we completed the strategic acquisition of SETICAP, a French company that manufactures champagne hoods, located in Troyes.

With this new scene and the objective to strengthen our position of leadership on the market, 2018 has represented an important revolution at the company. We have redefined our brand’s architecture: Ramondin Capsules, Ramondin Coiffes & Muselets (formerly, SETICAP) and Inspiral (formerly, INESA). This resulted in the establishment of RMDGroup—a new international project focused on creating value through sustainability, R+D+i and Social Responsibility.

We present the first 100% recyclable and totally plastic-free capsule made of two metal pieces: E-CAP

It is an ecological alternative to traditional capsules. It is patented by our company and is the only one on the market. In doing so, at Ramondin (Capsules, Coiffes & Muselets), we are joining customers’ and consumers’ commitment to products that are sustainable, recyclable and respectful of the environment.

Its great advantage is the absence of plastic

Its great advantage is the absence of plastic, which reduces its environmental impact and the direct consequences of using it: deforestation, increasing prices on essential products, and plastic waste that takes over 400 years to disappear. It is recycled through the collection systems already in place. In addition, at Ramondin, we also use water-based, solvent-free inks, making it even more sustainable.

It is sold with the Ramondin hallmark, with our advising and post-sales service that characterize us, while maintaining the same delivery deadlines and availability currently offered by the Prestige Complex capsule.

RMDGroup promotes the 2020 Talent Plan

At RMDGroup, we already have an initial group of over 25 employees who have been chosen to form part of the Talent Plan.

Coming from all of the Group’s plants, this selection of employees guarantees the talent of our organization and prevents the departure (whether scheduled or unexpected) of key employees or the need to fill new positions from altering the continuity of strategies or our commitment to customers.

With this project, RMDGroup is committing to help candidates prepare and get educated, and our selected employees pledge to continue performing their current job well while they are getting trained to assume greater responsibilities. The involvement of our entire Management Team and the officials of the candidates is essential for the quality of the results.

The 2020 Talent Plan is aligned with our Strategic Plan and is envisioned to manage the talent at RMDGroup to promote the growth of our company.
